Butter's story
Butter came to us with her smaller companion, Popcorn. Butter is a little Yorkie girl herself, weighing just 5 lbs. Her original age estimate was 6, but she may be a bit older.
Butter is pretty shy at first, but has warmed well to her foster mom and seems to be doing very well in the home, which she shares with several doggie siblings. It may take some time for her to be completely comfortabl e with a new family and home, but the love she has to share will be worth it.
Butter was either born with a collapsed eye or had a trauma in early life. The wonderful Dr. Honea removed the eye after she came into rescue, so that it would not cause tearing and/or infection in the future. Butter is spayed, heartworm negative and full vetted.
Because of her size and shyness, Butter should be adopted by a single adult or older couple. It is uncertain how she will do around young children or too active a family.
Our adoption fee for most pups/dogs starts at $250, which includes current, age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, a free wellness exam, and by 5 months of age, spay/neuter with rabies vaccine at Robinson Rescue in Shreveport, LA. Once we receive your adoption application, our Board will review it and get back to you as soon as possible. In some cases, if we are overwhelmed with applications, we will not be able to respond to each one individually. Please check the album for updates on the dog's status.
